Fooooooood.

I love food. Most people do (save anorexics, perhaps - and even then, they may love the taste of food). Moreover, I love good food - well prepared, fresh ingredients with a variety of complimentary flavours, colours and textures. ooooh.... I am drooling just thinking about it.

I choose to talk about food because of a product President's Choice has come out with: naan pizza.

weird, I hear some of you say. Granted - it's not a food combo one thinks of readily. But it sounds soooo promising - what could be more tasty than combining two of my favourite foods? I think I'll try it next week. Because this week, I bought chocolate gelato, strawberries, and coconut flavoured dessert tofu. I also cooked pan-fried trout, and more of my favourite breakfast rice pudding for the week.
mmmmmm...

The old adage is that "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach". However, I get the distinct sense that though men definately enjoy a good meal, and certainly appreciate women who can cook well, most guys don't seem to get half the pleasure out of eating that women do. Get a bunch of women together talking about their favourite foods (especially chocolate) and you hear sounds that most guys wish they could elicit from women.

Perhaps it's buried/concealed understanding of abundant nutrition in certain foods which causes womens' strong response to food. After all, cocoa has been found to have antioxidants and other good components within. same goes for berries. Sugar is an easily convertible short-term energy source, carbohydrates are longer term energy sources. Good food for supporting life inside yourself. Couple that with a desire to reproduce (and most, if not all women feel their life clock at some point in time, even if they won't admit it) and you have a recipe for something that makes you feel really good when you eat it. You've got what you need to have kids - whether you're thinking about actually having kids or not, your body knows it.

Whatever the case, I love food. I love spices on food, and trying new foods, new tastes, new flavours. Feed me, Seymour! :P
